That is a total of 26 finalists and 36 images, so some of the finalists have more than one image in the finals.

The theme of the competition was to capture some aspect of life in Western Australia – living in WA; at work in WA; our leisure time in WA, etc.

For FotoFreo 2012 there is a prize pool valued at $10,000.  First prize, of $5,000 cash, was awarded to Mike Wishart for his photograph entitled Fishing Freo Harbour
The Runner up was Melinda Ison-Poor with her photograph entitled The Swan Moment.  Melinda will receive a new Nikon D800 for her prize.

The actual finalist's photographs (the ‘exhibition’) are located in a number of shop windows throughout the Fremantle CBD. The exhibition is supported by a map of the area showing the location of the businesses displaying the images – so the City of Fremantle becomes the venue for the exhibition and viewers will have to walk around Fremantle to see the photographs.

The venue map (of image locations) can be collected from the various shops displaying photographs.  You can also download the map by clicking here.

There will also be a popular choice award.  You can vote for your photograph of choice by going into the venue where the image is displayed and recording your name and a valid contact number on the sheet provided. This award will be announced at the end of the festival.
